How to advertise on forums

First off a forum is a place where people go to discuss just about
anything, for instance I mostly hang out in forums about online
marketing. However there is a forum for just about anything you can
think of, go on go to your favourite search engine and type something
followed by forum and see what happens so you see doesn't matter what
you do you will find somewhere to chat.
Far and away the best feature about forums is that they are free to
join, which of course means they are a free source of advertising and
even better than that is that its targeted traffic because you should
only join forums that are relevant to what you offer.
Now for the part you wanted to know how to actually advertise,
typically forums don't allow advertising so don't do it they will
delete you. That being said some do have topic's where you can
advertise so only advertise there.
Apart from that the real way of advertising is in your SIG (signature)
which appears at the bottom of every single post that you make. It is a
clickable link that has a short sentence or phrase that describes what
you offer and should be completeley clickable and links to your
homepage or a sales page.
A few things that you should know when using a signature or advertising
(if allowed) you should always read the rules for signatures as some
forums are very strict and only allow you to link to your homepage but
others are a bit more lenient and allow you to link to sales pages or
product pages with no hassle.
Also when it actually comes to making posts only post if you have
something to contribute eg helping someone buy giving a suggestion to
there question or you can ask a question yourself, make sure its legit
and you keep an eye on it so you can make replies to thank contributors
or to answer a question they might ask you this will help people know
you are there to contribute not just advertise. most importantly never
straight up advertise you'll get deleted and people wont respect you
and that's what you should be doing is building up trust with people
thus building your credibility which can increase your sales.
As long as you follow the rules of the forums you join you can generate
an endless supply of free targeted traffic to your site and you will
enjoy your online experience.
